  Coffee Mornings in St Giles' Church. Everyone is invited for coffee in the Tower Room (or outside in the Churchyard, if the weather is good). There is no charge - this is a social get-together, not a fundraiser.

Tuesdays 10.00am - 11.30am

Yoga Classes in the Village Hall, suitable for all ages and abilities. Cost is £6.50 per class - more details here.

Tuesdays 7.00pm - 8.00pm

Legs, Bums & Tums in the Village Hall. All over body toning. Fun and friendly class, suitable for all ages and abilities. Mats/light hand weights provided. £5 per class/pay as you go. Contact Lorraine Sutton (07488 281 671) or see poster here.

Dance & Keep Fit Classes in the Village Hall, specifically tailored for individual needs... Cost is £40 per term (for a 10-week term) or £5 per week on the door. More details here.

Fridays from 6th July - 26th August

Summer Boules Evenings - on the Playing Field boules court. Start time 6.00pm. Players £2/head. Teams to be created on the night. There will be a weekly prize for the winning team and the much-coveted Summer League Trophy will be awarded to the best overall team at the end of the season. All are welcome, whether to play or just watch. BYO chairs, nibbles and drinks.

Saturday 10th September

Autumn Show - in the Village Hall. Competiton categories will include flowers (including a special sunflower category), fruit and vegetables, cookery, handicrafts and photography, for which the adult subject is 'Abandoned Buildings' and the children under 16's 'I Love My .....??' Saturday 17th September

Maplestead's Jumble Sale - in the Village Hall. Starts 3.00pm Admission 30p. Raffle and Refreshments. More details from Diane Smith (473 300), Doreen Faulks (460 727) or Liz Newton (461 308).

Mondays from 26th September

WEA Autumn Course – in the Village Hall. This seven-week course by Susan Pownall is entitled ‘Women War Artists’. More details from Jean Bowers (323 326).

Sunday 3rd October

Harvest Village Walk meet at 11.00am in the Village Hall car park. Cost: £2.50/person – dogs & children under 15 free. Half-way drinks + refreshments at the finish.

Saturday 22nd October

Greyhound Racing Night - in the Village Hall. More details nearer the time.
