Great Maplestead Parish Council is committed to ensuring the safety of all users of its services and facilities and takes its responsibilities seriously.

Everyone has a duty to safeguard children, young people and vulnerable adults. This policy promotes good practice in safeguarding for those using Council-owned facilities.

It applies to:

  • Any individual or organisation working for or on behalf of the Council, whether in a paid, voluntary or commissioned capacity: e.g. those contracted to do work.
  • Any individual or organisation hiring, leasing or using Council-owned facilities for the purpose of delivering any service to children, young people or vulnerable adults

It details how the Council aims to provide a safe environment, its expectations of good behaviour by all users of its facilities and the safe working practices that users should follow.
